Welcome to the Web site for ASIS&T SIG SI, the Special Interest Group for Social Informatics of the Association for Information Science and Technology. SIG SI brings together researchers who are interested in the social aspects of computerization, including the roles of ICT in social and organizational change, the uses of IT in social contexts, and the ways that the social organization of IT is influenced by social forces and social practices.

SIG SI, along with our co-sponsor the Rob Kling Center for Social Informatics at Indiana University, is happy to be able to announce the Call for Papers and Participation for our 11th Annual Social Informatics Research Symposium: The Impacts of Social Informatics Research. Our symposium will take place the morning of Saturday November 7th, as part of the ASIS&T 2015 Annual Meeting in St. Louis. The deadline for paper, poster, and panel proposals is August 9th. Full details are available in the full call for participation. In addition, nominations are now open for SIG SI’s 2014 Social Informatics Best Paper and Best Student Paper awards, to be awarded at the Symposium; these are due by August 15th. Good luck to all who submit!
